Homemade print

In spring 2009 came my neighbor OZ9ZZ with a proposal on, how we could make prints at home.

"Good idea, was my answer."

Most of the equipment we needed, we already had. There were only a few things we are missing.

I we in the upcoming pictures tell a bit about the process.

First we will look at the equipment you need.

Computer

Printer with at least 1200 * 1200 dpi

PCB software.

Lighting box with ultraviolet light

Here you see the light is on.

You must have a count on, so it self tuns off, after the accurate time.

Container with etching solutions.

Heating unit to keep the liquid at a temperature of 60-80 degrees

Comprassor which deliver air to the fluid tank.

Container for producing liquid.

Print production:

When we have all the parts we need for print production, we can get started

After manufacture of printed circuit, print it on a overhead.

Clipping a piece of PCB in appropriate size. I'm using PCBs with positive lacquer

With overhead downward against uv light and PCBs on the other side of the overhead. Switched on the UV light in approximately 2.15 minutes

When the PCB is illuminated then it must be produced with a fluid of Na2CO3 and H2O.

Here you can see it becomes visible.

Here you can see that it is completely finished.

The PCBs are cleaned with water

Be very careful.

Now put PBC into acids.

And wait for it to be finished.

The PCBs are cleaned with water agine.

The PCB is finish.

Technical data:

Illumination of PCBs:

Using a clear overhead: Time is approximately 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

By using an opaque overhead: Time is approximately 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

How to make the induced fluid:

15 grams sodium carbonate "Na2CO3" dissolved in 1 litter water "H2O".

It is an advantage if you use ½ litter hot water first to dissolve sodium carbonate in and then even a half litter of cold water afterwards.

How to make acids:

450-500 grams Sodium persulphate "Na2S2O8" dissolved in 2 litter hot water.

When the liquid is used, it should be between 60 and 80 degrees warm
